Marcus arrived at the Manchester office when he was sofa surfing at a friend’s home.

Fearing rejection, he had not come out to his friends- he had previously been ostracised by his community in Bristol. Marcus came to Manchester to start a new life and escape isolation.

akt supported him by giving him access to akt’s mentoring service and provided him with a Rainbow Starter pack to help him move into his new home.

akt also helped Marcus find a job and supported him along each step of finding new accommodation. 

He is now settled into his new home, feels much happier and has a supportive group of friends.
