What happens next?

Following an initial conversation, if our services are for you, we will arrange an assessment with one of our caseworkers to discuss your housing situation, your support needs and your options.

From there, akt staff will provide support, advice and guidance to you.

This could include:

  • supporting you to present as homeless to your local authority
  • referring you to supported or emergency accommodation
  • advising you on how to search for and secure rented housing
  • referring you to other akt services such as our Youth Engagement Programme
  • signposting you to external support such as counselling, LGBTQ+ social groups or advocacy services

If you are threatened with or experiencing homelessness then having the following items can help with the process when accessing support:

  • Photo ID, e.g. passport or driving licence
  • National Insurance Number
  • A bank account
  • Proof of income (such as payslips or benefit award letter)

Don't worry if you don’t have these items, please do still get in touch with us.
