Crafternoon with akt Feeling crafty? Let us inspire you with these three crafty projects... Rainbow/ flag paper chain What you need: Scissors Coloured paper Glue or tape What to do: Firstly cut the coloured paper into strips (around 2cm x 20cm). Curl the paper around so that you can glue or tape the two ends together. Place the next strip of paper inside to create the first link and stick the ends together again. Add as many as you like to make the chain as long as you’d like! Wall hanging to create different flags What you need: Kitchen roll cardboard cylinder/wrapping paper cardboard cylinder Scissors Coloured paper String What to do: Cut the paper in 4cm x 14cm strips in the colours of your choice to make whichever flag you would like. Create chains of colours that you can attach to your cardboard cylinder by sticking the ends of the paper together. Do this for two pieces of paper and then link those using a third piece of paper. If you were doing a rainbow for example you might want the chain to start with a red piece of paper, then red, yellow etc. Make as many chains as you can fit onto the cardboard roll and once made, loop the first link of each chain onto the cardboard roll to create your wall hanging paper chain flag! Attach to the wall (or wherever you’d like) by gluing a piece of string to each end of the cardboard roll and tying together at the top. This can easily attach to a hook or nail. Stocking making What you need: Fabric Scissors Strong Glue What to do: Firstly, lay your fabric of choice on a flat surface inside out. Then draw the outline of the stocking onto the first piece of fabric with the mirror image drawn onto the second piece of fabric, making sure that the outline is big enough as the stocking will be much smaller when glued together & turned inside out. Glue together the edges of the shape, making sure to leave out the top of the stocking. Turn inside out and there is your stocking! Attach an extra piece of fabric or some ribbon to be able to hang it. Decorate as much or as little as you’d like! need support? donate news Manage Cookie Preferences
